A business without social media handles in today’s age is like staying in the dark and selling at night

Your personal image is a reflection on your business and so are that of your workers if you have any. It is important to make sure your personal social media handles reflect positively on your business.

What kind of pictures do you post on social media? what is on your timeline? Which kind of comments are you noted for? And who are your friends and what image do they reflect on you?

In today’s age, when people want to do business with you, they go straight to your social media handles and check your profiles. They check your timeline as well as your biography. These are things most people take for granted but it really does play a huge role.

I remember an interview panel I had the opportunity to be a part of, this young lady had it all but after checking her social media handles, we quickly took her off. There are so many people I have denied the opportunity because of their comments on platforms and also things I see them post.

In business, image is important. Just as you pay attention to what you say and do when people are directly in front of you, so should you pay attention when you on social media and dealing with people you never know. You might be missing a fortune!

Encourage anyone in contact with your business to reflect a good image and try hard to do the same. Encourage customers to leave a response on your page and don’t allow just any tag on your timeline.

If you see a negative friend, block the person and always be mindful of your display pictures and your status.

Remember, your brand is what people talk about when you are not around.
